The iPhone Fold is expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. It is likely to become the most expensive Apple smartphone ever, with prices in Europe significantly exceeding the 2,000-euro mark. A recent leak reveals the pricing structure–as well as the RAM and storage configurations.

RAM and Storage

According to a report from the Korean financial portal “The Bell,” the iPhone Fold will be equipped with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Apple already uses the same type and size of memory in the iPhone 17 Pro. The report names Samsung as the supplier.

For internal storage, according to a post by leaker Instant Digital, three variants are planned:

  • 256 GB
  • 512 GB
  • 1 TB

The iPhone 17 Pro is also available in these three variants. Only the larger Pro Max has an additional 2 TB version. According to the leak, this option is not planned for the iPhone Fold.

How Expensive the iPhone Fold Is Expected to Be

Earlier leaks suggested a price range between 2,000 and 2,500 U.S. dollars for the iPhone Fold. The information from the current leak largely aligns with this but goes a step further. Instant Digital provides specific price details for the Chinese market:

  • 256 GB: 15,999 Yuan
  • 512 GB: 17,999 Yuan
  • 1 TB: 19,999 Yuan

Converted to U.S. dollars, these prices are significantly higher than previously assumed. However, Apple rarely adopts U.S. prices for other markets. “Macworld” has adjusted the prices for the typical markup and arrived at the following results:

  • 256 GB: 1,999 USD
  • 512 GB: 2,199 USD
  • 1 TB: 2,399 USD

The most expensive iPhone to date is the 17 Pro Max with 2 TB of storage, which also costs 1,999 USD. Thus, the Fold is likely to be the first iPhone to break the 2,000-USD mark. In Germany, the 17 Pro Max with 2 TB already costs 2,449 euros. That’s about 20 percent more than the U.S. price–this applies to the other storage variants as well. If Apple follows its previous pricing strategy, the iPhone Fold could start at 2,449 euros in the local market. For 512 GB and 1 TB, 2,649 euros and 2,899 euros might be possible.
