iPhone 17 Pro Makes Strange Noises
In the official Apple Community Forum, affected owners have described how the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max make noises while charging. The phenomenon occurs with both USB-C cables and MagSafe chargers. The perceived sound is similar to the static of an old radio.
Additionally, other observations are circulating. Some users notice the static quietly when watching a video on a platform, even when they turn the volume all the way down. Others report hearing the static even when nothing on the smartphone is producing sound, such as music. Sometimes, it is enough to simply scroll through websites while the device is charging. In rare cases, it can even be heard when the phone is not charging.
Since the problem disappears for some when they stop charging, it suggests that the cause lies there.
Apple Is Aware
As one user in the forum recounts, he contacted an Apple support representative who conducted a full diagnosis of his device. The noises from the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max during charging are reportedly not due to the hardware.
Apple is aware and is currently working on a fix, which will be released as an update. However, the issue has persisted since the end of September, and updates released so far have not resolved the problem, as reported by “Macrumors.”

It is also quite possible that the problem is widespread but not perceived as such by most owners. The noise is said to be rather quiet, so many might not hear it at all.
