Apple has announced the date for its Special Event 2026. The presentation will take place on September 9 at 7 p.m. The invitation features the Apple logo against shimmering sunlight with the motto: “Wonder and Shine.” The focus will be on new iPhones. There are also hints of new AirPods and Apple Watch models.
Foldable iPhone and New Pro Models
The most significant new release is expected to be Apple’s first foldable smartphone. Leaks, rumors, and hints in the iOS 27 Beta code suggest a debut at the September event. The name “iPhone Ultra” is being discussed.
The device is expected to unfold into a wide format. Samsung uses a similar concept with the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Initial internal testers have reportedly been impressed by the iPhone Ultra’s build quality and robust folding mechanism. However, some compromises compared to the Pro models are anticipated. The Ultra is likely to lack a telephoto camera, instead featuring only a dual-camera setup.
For the iPhone 18 Pro Max, a variable aperture could be the most significant camera innovation. This feature would allow more or less light onto the sensor as needed, significantly expanding the capabilities of the triple-camera system.
The iPhone Ultra, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to feature the new Apple A20 Pro chip, which, like the recently introduced M6, is based on the cutting-edge 2-nanometer manufacturing process.
AirPods 5 and New Apple Watches
Apple may also present the fifth generation of AirPods. Like their predecessors, they are expected to be available in two versions: an entry-level model without active noise cancellation and a higher-priced variant with ANC.
