A supposed security alert from Google claims that mass spam messages have been sent using your phone number. However, the warning doesn’t come from the internet giant but is a scam.
Suddenly, a warning with the Google logo appears on the smartphone. It states that numerous spam SMS messages have been sent using your phone number. The message seems legitimate at first glance but does not originate from Google. Scammers use the fake page to create uncertainty and prompt users to react quickly.
According to the fact-checking portal “Mimikama,” the page mentions 42 complaints about spam messages. Alleged examples of such messages are also displayed. Users are asked to indicate whether they sent the messages themselves. The options “Yes” and “No” lead further into the scam rather than helping to resolve a real security issue.
The web address exposes the fake Google page
A closer look at the address bar shows that the warning does not come from Google. According to Mimikama, the fraudulent page is accessed via “pro.quicksala.com.” This is not an official Google domain. The displayed Google logo is merely intended to give the page a trustworthy appearance.
Other features also argue against a genuine security alert. It remains unclear which Google account is supposedly affected. An imprint, privacy information, and references to official support are also missing. Instead of providing understandable details, the page urges a quick decision.

How affected users should respond to the warning
Anyone who sees the fake message should not select any of the displayed buttons. Mimikama recommends closing the page immediately and not forwarding the link. Whether there is actually a problem with your account can only be verified through the official Google website or the Google app.
If personal data has already been entered on the fraudulent page, the Google password should be changed as quickly as possible. Mimikama also recommends enabling two-factor authentication. This requires an additional security check alongside the password when logging in, providing better protection against unauthorized access to the account.
