Normally, the platform protects this data by obscuring large portions of the information. However, this protective function temporarily failed.

Prominent Accounts Affected
According to the online magazine “Hackread,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was among those affected. Screenshots of the security flaw quickly spread on social media on June 6, 2026. Several posts included the login page of Zuckerberg as well as his visible email address and phone number.
Additional attention was drawn by a report from the security channel “International Cyber Digest.” According to this, the vulnerability also revealed a TikTok account that can now apparently be attributed to Kylian Mbappé, which was not previously clearly associated with him.
Initial investigations suggest a logic error in the programming was the cause. There are currently no indications of a hacker attack on Meta’s servers. The company stated that the vulnerability was fixed within a few hours. Meta also reported that there was no system-wide data leak.
Possible Consequences for Users
Despite the company’s quick response, uncertainty remains. As of now, it cannot be ruled out that the security flaw also allowed access to private users’ contact information.
