Want to display your photos on your room wall in a different way? With this trick, you can transfer images directly onto canvases and wooden surfaces. You save yourself the hassle of printing and shipping costs and have a homemade product with a vintage look. TECHBOOK shows you how it’s done.
For this TECH-HACK, you will need:
- a printer
- paper
- an image editing program for your smartphone or PC
- a canvas or wooden board
- photo transfer glue, also known as photo transfer potch
- a small brush
- scissors
- a sponge
Step 1: Prepare the Image
Select the right image for your canvas. Pay attention to the correct aspect ratio or crop the photo accordingly. Additionally, you need to mirror the image horizontally. Then you can print it on regular paper (80 grams per square meter). Use scissors to remove the white paper edges.
Step 2: Apply the Glue
Apply the transfer glue generously to both the canvas and the image. Then place the image face down on the canvas or wooden board. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours.
Step 3: Reveal the Artwork
In the final step, use a damp sponge. Gently rub over the image to remove the top paper layer. Your photo decoration with a vintage look is complete!
