The king of monsters is getting an impressive building block monument. With more than 5,000 pieces, the new Godzilla even sets a record at Lego.
Lego has unveiled the Godzilla set 21375, the largest model in the Ideas series to date. The giant lizard consists of 5,363 pieces in total. With the heat ray attached, the finished model reaches a height of more than 70 centimeters. The price is also substantial: In Germany, Lego is asking 399.99 euros. Sales begin on November 27, 2026, this year’s Black Friday.

The model is not just a large statue. Among other things, the head, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, and fingers can be moved. The tongue can be replaced with a blue heat ray. During construction, it can also be decided whether the tail points to the left or right. Important for the size record: Godzilla is the largest Lego Ideas model to date, not the largest Lego set overall.
The idea for the record set came from a fan
The design for the Lego Godzilla originally came from outside the company. Fan designer Matthew Esposito from New York published his idea under the name MattE720 on the platform Lego Ideas. There, the model reached the required 10,000 supporters, qualifying it for review by Lego. Ultimately, the manufacturer decided on an official implementation.
The template is the Godzilla from the American Monsterverse by the film studio Legendary. Despite the timing, there is no direct connection to the new Japanese film “Godzilla Minus Zero.” The version of the monster shown there differs from the template of the Lego model.
Godzilla also returns to the cinema
On November 5, 2026, “Godzilla Minus Zero” premieres in German cinemas. Director Takashi Yamazaki continues his 2023 film “Godzilla Minus One.” The main actors Ryūnosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe also return. The new story is set two years after the events of its predecessor.

Expectations are high, as “Godzilla Minus One” was very well received by critics. On Metacritic, the film scored 81 out of 100 points based on 34 reviews. At the 2024 Oscars, the Japanese film also won the award for best visual effects. Thus, Godzilla is doubly present in November 2026: first on the big screen and a few weeks later as the largest Lego Ideas model to date.
