With the new version 2.5.0 of the Fritz!App Smart Home, Fritz! (formerly AVM) significantly expands the control options of its smart home solution. For the first time, outlets and lamps can be configured directly in the app–including flexible time control for even more everyday and on-the-go management.
The new version of the Fritz!App Smart Home for iOS and Android is now available, offering users more convenience in managing their Fritz!-based smart home devices. In addition to radiator controllers, switchable components such as smart outlets or lamps can now be set up and operated directly via the app–both within the home network and remotely.
Monitor Energy Consumption and Reduce Heating Costs
A particular highlight of the update is the new timer function. One-time or recurring switch times can be conveniently set per device. Vacation times and weekly schedules can also be created.

For example, a washing machine connected via a Fritz!Smart Energy 210 can be automatically started according to individual needs. Seasonal lighting, such as during the Christmas season, can also be precisely controlled. The power consumption of individual devices is visible in the app, allowing for targeted analysis.
The Fritz!Smart Energy 250 power sensor is intended to provide additional transparency. It is magnetically attached to the infrared interface of a digital electricity meter and transmits the total power consumption and feed-in values from photovoltaic systems to the Fritz!OS. This is particularly helpful with variable electricity rates, allowing energy-intensive devices to be shifted to cheaper time slots.
Heating costs can also be reduced with some selected settings within the Fritz!App Smart Home. For instance, the smart radiator controller Fritz!Smart Thermo 302 is also fully integrated into the app. The thermostats allow for room-by-room temperature control, which can lead to additional savings, especially during the heating season.
Availability and Requirements
According to the manufacturer, the update and the centralized control of all devices via one app are intended to increase user convenience in everyday life.
Version 2.5.0 of the Fritz!App Smart Home can now be downloaded from the respective app stores. Devices with iOS or iPadOS from version 15 are supported. A Fritzbox with installed Fritz!OS from version 7.10 is required.
