Due to potential fire hazards, Decathlon is recalling certain electric drives for SUPs and kayaks, along with their associated batteries. The devices should no longer be used or charged. Customers affected by the recall can return the products to a Decathlon store and receive a refund.
The recall at Decathlon involves the Itiwit brand electric drive for stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) and kayaks, as well as the associated battery. It is used for motorized movement on water.
During a routine inspection, a potential safety-related defect was identified in the drive. If water enters the battery housing, severe overheating cannot be ruled out. In extreme cases, this could lead to a fire. Therefore, affected drives and batteries should neither be used nor charged.
These Models Are Affected
The affected products carry the product or model codes 8771733 and 8853862. The corresponding article numbers are 4682119 and 5094260. Customers should check these details to determine if their electric drive or battery is subject to the recall. For better reference, Decathlon provides a sales period from November 1, 2022, to October 12, 2026, inclusive.
If consumers own one of the mentioned models, they should not continue to use it. Instead, they can return the electric drive or battery to a Decathlon store of their choice. The purchase price will be refunded.

Caution with Swollen Batteries
If abnormalities such as excessive heating or swelling occur, the product must be isolated. Decathlon suggests a place outdoors or underwater for this purpose. Affected individuals should then immediately contact customer service.
