Airbnb is expanding its platform with new AI features, personal recommendations, and additional services. The goal: to make travel planning easier, more personal, and more comfortable.
Travel Tips Will Soon Come from Friends
Many travelers rely on recommendations from friends and family when planning vacations. Airbnb is now integrating this approach directly into its app. Users can connect with acquaintances and view their travel experiences, preferred accommodations, and past destinations. This aims to base the search for suitable offers more on personal experiences rather than anonymous reviews.
A new interactive map allows users to discover visited places, recommendations, reviews, and favorites. Additionally, Airbnb provides information on neighborhoods, restaurants, attractions, and leisure activities. Members decide what content other users can see. The company aims to further develop the platform into a social network for travelers.

AI to Simplify the Search for Accommodations
A central part of the update is the expansion of artificial intelligence. Initially in the U.S., users will be able to search for accommodations, activities, and services in natural language. Instead of selecting numerous filters individually, simple descriptions should suffice to find suitable offers. This is intended to make the search significantly faster and more intuitive.
The AI highlights important features of accommodations, creates compact summaries, and helps compare multiple favorites. Customer service is also being expanded: the AI-supported chat is already available in more than 50 languages and will soon be usable via voice input. Airbnb promises more comfortable planning and quicker answers to travel-related questions.
Airbnb Significantly Expands Offerings
In addition to the search, Airbnb is also expanding its service offerings. In selected European cities, guests can order groceries or ready-made meals directly to their accommodation. Additional services such as laundry services and rental options for cribs, strollers, and high chairs are also being added. This allows travelers to use even more services through a single app.
Depending on the region, additional local offers will be available. In the French Alps, for example, travelers can rent ski and snowboard equipment, while in South Florida, boat rentals are offered.
