What the Colors in the PlayStation 2 Logo Mean
As the “Obsolete Sony” account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) explained, Sony is alluding to something specific with its choice of colors. Blue stands for the earth, and black for outer space. This color combination is generally found more frequently at Sony, especially on the older consoles.
However, both colors are also highly symbolic beyond the meaning Sony has given them. For many years, both have stood for strength and serenity, especially in a corporate context. Blue, on the other hand, is often the color of technology and has a calming effect on the brain. Black, on the other hand, as the “color of the night,” is often described as noble and timeless.
While the older consoles differed little in terms of color, the PlayStation 5 saw a change to the white-blue combination, although black elements can still be found on the console. White, on the other hand, stands for clarity and calm. What colors is Sony planning for its PlayStation 6?
PlayStation Logo Now Iconic
The PlayStation logo itself, apart from that of the consoles, combines the letters “P” and “S.” The design was created by Manabu Sakamoto, who has also designed various other logos for the company. Incidentally, you can see numerous other designs of the iconic PlayStation logo on his website.
And the colors of the colorful version have a meaning there as well. Red stands for “Passion,” green for “Excellence,” yellow for “Happiness,” and blue for “Patience.” Definitely all good qualities for gaming.
