The PlayStation 5 Slim is currently discounted at Aldi. TECHBOOK has taken a close look at the bundle and reveals whether it’s worth it.
The PlayStation 5 Slim hasn’t been on the market for long. Sony launched the console at the end of November, following months of rumors about a new version of the coveted PS5. Aldi is now offering the PS5 Slim at a reduced price in its online store. The bundle includes the game “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” But how good is the deal really?

PlayStation 5 Slim at Aldi in a Bundle
Somewhat surprisingly, the release of the PS5 Slim occurred at the end of November–also in Europe. This is not a successor to the coveted Sony console but a new version. The “Slim” in the title refers to the device’s flexible drive.
The PlayStation 5 is currently available in two versions: one with and one without a drive (this version is called the Digital Edition). However, with the PS5 Slim, players have the option to purchase the drive separately. The Aldi offer includes the drive, as well as the matching DualSense controller and two horizontal stands.
Additionally, the bundle includes the newly released AAA game “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” The PlayStation 5 Slim bundle, including the game, costs 559 euros in the online shop of Aldi Nord and Süd.

Specifications of the Sony Console
When comparing the PS5 Slim to the standard version, not much has changed internally. However, the Slim model is slightly smaller and lighter than the regular PlayStation 5. Sony has also adjusted the storage, increasing it to 1 TB.

Positive Reviews for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”
As mentioned, the Aldi offer includes not only the PS5 Slim but also the game “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” This is an exclusive title for the PlayStation 5, released on October 20, 2023.
Since then, the action-adventure has received good to very good reviews. Overall, the title offers about 20 hours of gameplay and thus not a very large map. However, players and critics praise the emotional story and varied gameplay. Compared to its predecessor, you can control two protagonists: the film-familiar Spider-Man Peter Parker and Miles Morales, the hero of the first part.
On the well-known platform Metacritic, the game holds a very good score of 90 (out of 100). Players rate “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” even higher, with 9.1 out of 10 possible points.
Is the PlayStation 5 Slim at Aldi Worth It?
The new Slim model is particularly interesting for those who want to buy a PS5 anyway, thanks to the larger internal storage. The fact that the Aldi offer also includes the flexible drive is another real plus.
Looking at the price, Aldi states an MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of 628 euros. With an offer price of 559 euros, this results in a savings of 69 euros or 12.3 percent. The stated MSRP refers to the manufacturer’s price for the console plus the game. Since both products are still relatively new on the market, these prices largely correspond to the regular prices of other shops. The MSRP of the PlayStation 5 Slim with a drive is 549 euros, and for the game, it’s 79.99 euros.
There are also other retailers selling the components slightly cheaper. According to the price comparison portal Idealo*, the console is available for about 539 euros and the game for just under 59 euros. This still results in significant savings for the PlayStation 5 Slim offer at Aldi. However, the bundle is especially worthwhile if you’re actually interested in the “Spider-Man” title. You also need to consider Aldi’s shipping costs of 5.49 euros in the calculation.
