This is now being reported by “Insider Gaming” based on a new investigation by security experts at NordVPN. According to them, many fans not only wish they could pre-order GTA 6 now—they’re downright desperate. Shady characters are exploiting this by creating numerous new scam campaigns and phishing sites related to the game.
Among other things, several websites have been noticed promising free codes or exclusive GTA 6 betas. However, these are attempts to spread viruses and other malware through these means.

The experts found, for example, that the perpetrators even clone well-known piracy websites to promote fake game files from GTA 6. Even the data packages themselves look convincingly real. In one case, installing them would activate hidden malware disguised as a regular NVIDIA graphics driver.
The problem doesn’t just affect PC users. Fake GTA 6 betas are also reportedly circulating for Android. For those interested, the distribution of all these files should cause confusion and skepticism, as GTA 6 is not initially set to release for PC or Android. Only owners of a PS5 or an Xbox Series X/S are expected to enjoy the mega-game at first.

Additionally, various phishing campaigns aim to capture login credentials for the Rockstar Social Club. Fake sites even appear on reputable platforms like Github, making them harder to detect. Compromised accounts are then resold online.

Fans who can’t wait for the release have no choice but to be patient. As a rule, you should only obtain files and information from trusted or official sources. A healthy dose of skepticism is essential to avoid falling for the many GTA 6 scams.
