If you buy a game on your smartphone, you can now continue playing it on your PC—without any additional costs. Google has expanded its Android gaming platform for Windows, offering cross-platform features that make paid titles easier to use.
Previously, players often had to pay multiple times for the same game if they wanted to play it on different platforms. That’s now a thing of the past: Google has introduced the “buy once, play anywhere” principle. A single purchase is enough to use a game on Android smartphones and tablets as well as Windows PCs. Initial supported titles include games from the Reigns series, OTTTD, and Dungeon Clawler. This move addresses long-standing criticism from many users. Those who play on their smartphone while on the go can now seamlessly continue on their PC without making additional purchases.
Test Paid Games in Advance
Google is also making it easier to try out paid games. Developers can now offer their titles as time-limited demos. Users can test whether a game runs smoothly on their device and meets their expectations before spending money. According to Google, this feature could lead to more people being willing to buy apps and games if they can test them beforehand.

Community and Help Directly in the Game
Many popular games now have their own contribution areas where players can ask questions, share tips, or discuss strategies. Currently, the feature is available in English for several dozen titles, with more languages and games to follow.
Additionally, Google offers the “Play Games Sidekick” overlay. This display provides context-based hints during gameplay, such as tips, answers to frequently asked questions, or automatically generated aids. This allows users to overcome difficult parts of the game more quickly without having to leave the game. With these innovations, Google makes cross-platform gaming easier, more comfortable, and cost-efficient—both on the go and at home on the PC.
