The Berlin-based router manufacturer Fritz! (formerly AVM) has announced the market launch of two new repeater products. Both are now available in stores. The Fritz!Repeater 1700 is the first to use the new Wi-Fi 7 standard, delivering up to 3600 Mbps in dual-band. The Fritz!Mesh Set 1600, on the other hand, is aimed at users who want to cover multiple rooms or floors with Wi-Fi 6 as an entry-level solution.
Fritz! first presented the Fritz!Repeater 1700 to the public at IFA 2024. At that time, it was still under the name 1200 W7. However, it was renamed at the MWC 2025 in March. Fritz! presented the mesh set around the 1600 this June.
Fritz!Repeater 1700 with Wi-Fi 7 costs 119 euros
With the Fritz!Repeater 1700, Wi-Fi 7 makes its way into the socket. The compact dual-band device uses the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands simultaneously, achieving transfer rates of up to 3600 Mbps. This represents an increase of 600 Mbps compared to the predecessor Fritz!Repeater 1200AX.
Thanks to Multi-Link Operation (MLO), a core feature of Wi-Fi 7, simultaneous data transfer on both frequency bands is possible. This ensures more stable performance, especially when used by multiple devices at the same time. Two antennas per band operate in a 2×2 MIMO process.
A Gigabit LAN port allows wired connection to the home network or network-capable devices. Integration into Fritz!Mesh is possible, as is use with routers from other manufacturers. The Fritz!Repeater 1700 is now available for a suggested retail price of 119 euros.
Fritz!Mesh Set 1600 as an entry-level solution with Wi-Fi 6
The recently introduced Fritz!Mesh Set 1600 is also now available. It consists of two or three Fritz!Repeaters 1200AX, each based on Wi-Fi 6, collectively offering speeds of up to 3000 Mbps.
Setup is done via the MyFritz!App. The first repeater takes over central control in the mesh and allows functions such as WLAN scheduling, name changes, or activation of a guest WLAN.

The sets can be used with any router or fiber optic modem. According to the manufacturer, the 2-pack is suitable for apartments with up to four rooms, while the 3-pack can cover larger living areas. The Fritz!Mesh Set 1600 is now available for 149 euros (2-pack) and 209 euros (3-pack).
